Sohar Branch Tour: 3 Stunning Drone Views of Our Yard

The Sohar branch of Al Yusr International is built around one idea: when a contractor calls, the material should already be here. To show you what that looks like, we sent a drone over the yard. This tour takes you through the steel warehouse, the loading yard and the timber bays, so you can see the stock behind the promise.

Why the Sohar Branch Matters to Contractors in Al Batinah

Sohar is one of Oman’s busiest industrial and construction hubs, and projects across Al Batinah depend on a steady flow of materials. Most delays on site do not come from the build itself. They start when a supplier has to order first and promise a delivery date later. The Sohar branch removes that wait by holding steel and timber on the ground, close to the projects that need them.

As a building materials supplier in Sohar, we keep the yard organised around speed: stock racked and counted inside, trucks loading outside, and a clear route in and out. Here is what the drone saw.

Inside the Steel Warehouse

Start indoors. The covered warehouse at the Sohar branch holds steel rebar in long, tied bundles, separated on racks so each size can be found and loaded quickly. Some bundles are wrapped in blue protective film, which keeps the steel clean and dry until it reaches your site.

An overhead crane runs the length of the building, so heavy bundles are lifted straight onto the truck instead of being dragged across the floor. That means faster loading, less handling damage and a safer working floor for our team.

For a contractor, this is the part that matters most. The steel is already here, counted and ready, when you call. You can read more about the range in our steel products section.

The Yard: Loading and Dispatch

Step outside and the yard is where stock turns into deliveries. A flatbed trailer in Al Yusr livery sits loaded with rebar, while a forklift works the open storage area behind it. Longer sections and covered bundles wait under tarpaulins, protected from the Omani sun and dust.

From above, you can see how the layout works. Steel sits to one side, a wide paved lane keeps trucks moving, and the loading area is close to the warehouse doors. A yard that is organised like this is how orders leave on time, even on busy mornings.

Timber and the Main Building

The branch building carries the Al Yusr International name in English and Arabic, with loading bays along its side. Stacks of timber sit right at the bay doors, strapped and ready to load onto customer vehicles.

Steel and timber cover most of what a site needs at the start of a job: rebar for the structure, and timber for formwork and framing. Having both at one location saves contractors a second trip and keeps the schedule tight. For the full picture of what we supply, see our building material trading page.

What Stock on the Ground Means for Your Project

Seeing a well-stocked yard is one thing. Here is what it changes for the people who build with it:

  • Faster quotes, because we quote against material that is physically in the yard.
  • Shorter lead times, with orders loaded from stock instead of waiting for a shipment.
  • Fewer site delays, since steel and timber arrive when the schedule needs them.
  • One stop for the main structural materials, which means fewer suppliers to manage.

A supplier who sells and a supplier you can plan around are not the same thing. The Sohar branch exists to be the second one.

Visit the Sohar Branch

The best way to judge a supplier is to see the stock yourself, and our doors are open. The Sohar branch is open Saturday to Thursday, 8 AM to 7 PM, and closed on Friday. You can find the location and contact details on our branches page, and learn more about the area on Sohar’s Wikipedia page.
