Guide to Installing Marble Treads, Risers, and Landings 

  1. Prepare the Surface: Ensure the staircase is clean, level, and stable. 
  2. Measure & Cut: Accurately measure the space where the marble tread will be installed. Cut the marble using a diamond blade wet saw. 
  3. Dry Fit: Lay the marble pieces in position to check fit and alignment before applying bonding material. 
  4. Apply Bonding: Evenly spread adhesive or cement-based mortar suitable for marble installation. 
  5. Install Risers: Hold the riser firmly in position, ensuring it is straight, plumb, and aligned with the tread. 
  6. Install Treads: Place the tread over the riser, ensuring it overlaps completely and fits securely. 
  7. Level & Align: Use a level throughout the installation for good aesthetics. 
  8. Grout Joints: Fill gaps with color-matched grout using the guide for the grout installation. 
  9. Seal Marble: Apply a marble sealer to protect against stains and moisture. 
  10. Clean & Finish: Remove adhesive residue and polish the installed marble for a flawless look. 
  11. Landing Joining & Design: Ensure a smooth transition between mid-landing and floor landing by aligning design elements for visual continuity. 
  12. Stair Lighting Feature: Install LED strip lights or recessed lighting along the sides or under the treads for both functionality and aesthetic appeal.

Tread Nosing Styles:  

Choose from chamfered edge, half-bullnose, or full-bullnose. 

Safety & Non-Slip Features:

  1. Standard: Use 2-3 groove lines along the tread edge.
  2. Durable: Install carborundum strips  or fill carborundum powder in the grooves for better grip.
  3. Premium: Add copper or brass inlays for an elegant finish.
  4. Pattern Selection: Choose patterns that flow seamlessly from treads to risers and landings, ensuring consistency in design and aesthetic balance.
  5. Nosing Styles: Use the attached drawings to suit your requirements on profiling
